Finally, a happy hour free of snow, rain, thunder, wind and fighting kids. Nothing but sunshine and clear skies here in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
TGIF, people, TGIF …
This week found us without our trusty rig. We’ve moved into a monthly furnished rental so we can really see what the neighborhoods (and neighbors) are like here. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms, waterfront and room to spread out … ahhhhh …
We did travel this week – back over to the West Coast for a night to take care of a medical appointment and to stop in and see my mother-in-law.
And just as predicted, we are wavering on our choice of where to put down roots. Now if we would just win the lottery, the decision would be clear – a house on the beach, a house in the mountains.
Either way, we’ve got the adult beverages chilled, the pizza ordered and the itunes scrolling.
Here’s what what’s in the queue:
“Papa was a rollin’ stone,
where ever he laid was his home.”
“And I’m wasted and I can’t find my way home.”
“Now wait a minute
things don’t look too familiar.
Who is this cowboy
who’s sleepin’ beside me?
He’s awful cute, but how’d I get his shirt on?
I had too much tequila last night.”
“Money, it’s a gas.
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash.
New car, caviar, four star daydream
Think I’ll buy me a football team.”
“She’d trade Colorado if he’d take her with him,
Closes the door before the winter lets the cold in …
… Well it’s a winding road,
when you’re in the lost and found.
You’re a lover, I’m a runner
we go ‘round and ‘round.”
“Do ya know what it’s like,
all revved up with no place to go.”
“Pour me something stronger,
pour me something straight.
All these crooked choices, make them go away.
I can barely stand up,
I can hardly breathe.
Pour me something stronger than me.”
“I will choose a path that’s clear,
I will choose freewill.”
“Every rose has its thorn,
just like every night has its dawn.
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song,
every rose has its thorn.”
“I have run, I have crawled.
I have scaled, these city walls,
these city walls,
only to be with you.
But I still haven’t found
What I’m looking for.”
